NATIVE COMTEMPORARY ARTISTS OF QUEBEC
From December 13, 2011
to December 21, 2012
It is with great pride and joy that Sacred Fire Productions has accepted to put together an exhibition of Native contemporary art. The Bonsecours Market, located at 363 de la Commune in Old Montréal, will host this unprecedented event, entitled Eleven Nations. The power of this unique exhibition will bring together Aboriginal artists from all of Quebec's Nations. It will be a great privilege for all audiences to familiarize with native culture stemming from all of Quebec. The exhibition run until December 31, 2012. Each work of art will be the creation of an artist representing one of the 11 Nations. For the first time ever, we will bring under one roof artists from all of Quebec's eleven Nations. It will be a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to learn more about their work and discover talented creators with a rich cultural heritage.
In a 3 500-pi2 space, we will show 38 artworks from 22 native artists. There will be a literary lounge where we will present books written by Aboriginal authors, and a screening room where visitors can watch more short films. During 12 months, a boutique will act as distribution platform for the Eleven Nations catalogue, lithographic prints, greeting cards, books produced by Aboriginal authors, and a selection of compact discs featuring Aboriginal music.
